The Madness That Was The National Bookstore Warehouse Sale 2014

Imagine my excitement when I found out that National Bookstore will hold its warehouse sale in the South, at Alabang Town Center.  80% off on books!!!!  There was no book over PHP 75!!  The only catch is you need to fight squeeze your way in between other excited crazy bookworms.

It was crowded.  It was messy.   It was smelly.  It was every man for himself.  And I loved every bit of it.  Para akong nasa Booksale except the books were brand new, some having been published 2013!
If I didn't have a kindle, I would have bought a lot of bestselling fiction books at Php 25.  Think James Patterson, Jodi Picoult, Jeffrey Archer and many more.    I'm sure you would be able to find a book you like in most genres: children's (Knufflebunny! Mo Willems! ), travel (the Lonely Planet! DK travel guides!), cooking (Martha Stewart!).  Really, the challenge would be to find new space for all the books you intend to buy.

Here's what I got

A. LIFE: THE CLASSIC COLLECTION - WONDERS OF THE WORLD - PHP 75!!!
B. DAILY INSPIRATION BY ROBIN SHARMA - PHP 50!!!
C. THE NEW PAPER QUILLING - PHP 37.50!!!
D. THE LAW OF THE NINES BY TERRY GOODKIND - PHP 15!!!!

See you at the next warehouse sale!

When Fully Booked announced they're having a sale, nothing could stop me from going to their Fort and Rockwell branches.  Not even a kulit and malikot toddler, hehe!
Here's what I got from the sale.

2. Brilliant New Typography (Php 1086) - Letters, of course!!!
3. Pat the Pony (Php 75) - Yes, it was discounted to Php 75!!  My sisters and I loved the Pat the Bunny series when we were young.

Singapore and Hong Kong Pasalubongs!

My parents and my sister went to Singapore and Hongkong recently and they got me really nice pasalubongs!  Feeling ko nag Kinokuniya, Page One and Eslite na rin ako.  Hehe!

The Constant Reader in Bataan (Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar)

Luis was turning two.  Because I had no money to spend on a lavish birthday party and I am an introvert, the chances of Luis celebrating with a birthday party are very slim, hehe!  But, really, I find that special occasions are best celebrated exploring new places with the people who matter most.  In that way, we create special memories that will last a lifetime.  Walang kupas, walang laos.
This year, we went to Bataan, which, coincidentally,  was a good follow up to our Corregidor trip because of its many historical landmarks.

Looking for Historical Landmarks in Bataan= Parang nagdeath march sa pagod

Then, we went to the real jewel of Bataan.  And it's not Anvaya Cove, (sorry, Anton), hehe!  It's Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan.

Para akong nagtime warp to the past.  Ang ganda dito!  Truly a good place to learn more about our culture and heritage.  It's more fun in the Philippines!

The Constant Reader at Corregidor Island

Before I decided on this trip, I was worried about a few things.  One, I have a fear of riding boats (and planes!).  Two, I would have to leave little L behind.  Three, the trip might rekindle M's childhood dream of becoming a soldier, hehe.
Good thing I didn't let these worries get the best of me.  This trip was one of the best and most tiring trips I have ever had.  I hope that with my pictures, I can convince you to go to Corregidor too.
